Heavy Metal Cheese Head

Name: AJ Grill

Currently resides in: Green Bay, Wisconsin

Q: What city/state were you born and raised?

A: Lansing, MI born, lived in Houston a good majority of my life. Lived other states as well.

Q: What is your earliest memory of being a Packer Fan?

A: 1980 watching with my uncle

Q: You and Courtney tied the knot in Lambeau Field. Tell us how that evolved and what made you do it?

A: After coming here in 2012 we knew that was the place to do it at. In the balcony underneath Bart Starr’s name.

Q: Do you have season tickets and how many Packer games do you attend a year?

A: I am currently number 570 on the waiting list. I attend around 5-6 regular-season games each year.

Q: When did you start tailgating so passionately in Lot 1 and how did that evolve?

A: After the renovations in 2013 I needed a place to call home starting with the 2014 season. lot 1 is similar to the Cheddarhead Pack of Houston family that I was a member of for years.

Q: Who is your all-time favorite player?

A:  Reggie White or James Lofton. Do I have to choose only one?

Q:  Who is your favorite player now and why?

A:  Probably Aaron Jones. He is super friendly with everyone, works hard, and does his job well.

Q:  How many players have you met in person?  Who impacted you the most?

A: 150 or so. I have around 65 signatures on my cheesehead. AJ Hawk was a guy who loved the fans. He would sign and sign for the kids after the game, even after a loss.

Q: Do you have any game day rituals/superstitions?

A:  If we are losing at halftime it is time to turn something around. I may wear my Cheesehead backwards or turn my jersey around.

Q: What would be your most valuable Packer memorabilia piece?  (non-monetary)

A:  Not sure. Maybe a canvas I have with autographs from 20 of Coach Lombardi’s guys. I love that piece

Q: Any last words you’d like to say to the Packer Nation?

A: I am thankful to be lIving in GB and I try to show others who are newcomers to the town where things are. Being a good host. And also we at Lot 1 welcome all fans from all teams. Just because someone is wearing a different jersey doesn’t mean we should treat them any less. As Steve Tate and Scott Schwartz say, ” I Am A Fan Of Fans. “
